Cantor guitarrista, Lou Reed é o pseudónimo de Lewis Allen Reed (nascido em 2 de março de 1942 no Brooklyn, Nova Iorque. O próprio diria que o seu best off é "uma volta a um lado mais selvagem", o característico rock alchimista é uma visão pessoal de um universo dualista, onde se cruzam anjos, demónios e fantasmas. As suas influências recorrem ao primeiro album The Velvet Underground and Nico (1967), onde assumia o papel de compositor e de guitarrista, até que por fim abandona a banda em 1970. Ao longo dos tempos Lou Reed foi reconhecido pelo seu carácter musical distinto, transcendente ou não o certo é que não me escapa à memória "Walk On The Wilde Side" & "Coney Island Baby.
