Depois de uma bem sucedida primeira edição em Setembro de 2005, o ForUjazz regressa com uma programação que promete apresentar do melhor e mais original jazz.

Integrado no vasto e rico programa das Festas de Lisboa, com o apoio da sua Câmara Municipal e da Egeac, este festival apresenta este ano, talvez, os três maiores nomes do jazz europeu das últimas décadas: Louis Sclavis, Alexander Von Schlippenbach e Peter Brotzmann.

A estes três “pesos pesados”, junta-se a categoria de um dos mais interessantes ensembles sedeados em Portugal, o multinacional IMI Kollektief.

Nesta sua segunda edição a Trem Azul, responsável mais uma vez pela programação do ForUjazz, pretende continuar uma aposta forte no excelente, mas pouco representado nos palcos nacionais, Jazz Europeu.

É intenção mais uma vez mostrar músicos cuja forte personalidade musical tenha contribuído para o desenvolvimento da estética desta música em constante modernização.
Nada melhor que abrir com o duo de Louis Sclavis, um verdadeiro colosso do melhor jazz Francês das ultimas três décadas. Com ele vem Vincent Courtois, o mais interessante e requisitado violoncelista francês do momento.

Na segunda noite, Lisboa terá o privilégio de assistir a um dos mais aguardados concertos do ano, Alexander Von Schlippenbach e o seu quinteto tocam a obra de Thelonious Monk segundo um prisma muito pessoal. Depois de ter sido apontado por quase todos como o melhor disco de jazz de 2005, "Monk's Casino" é apresentado em Portugal pela primeira vez.

A fechar a programação no Teatro Variedades, toca a 21 o trio de Peter Brotzmann, o autor do consagrado, polémico e obrigatório manifesto do free jazz europeu, “Machine Gun” em 1968.
Quase 40 anos depois, Brotzmann vem a Portugal pela segunda vez. Na verdade, a carreira deste gigante alemão do saxofone nunca esteve tão activa, seja no envolvimento constante com a nata do jazz europeu, seja nas várias parcerias com alguns dos mais brilhantes jazzistas americanos, Ken Vandermark, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Fred Hopkins, Nasheet Waits, Walter Perkins e tantos outros.

Florence Adooni - Mam Pe'ela Su'ure ( Philophon ) Florence Adooni shares a long history with Philophon. Being part of Guy One's group she is the voice on his radio hit "Estre".
